Few games can spark up a heated debate about space-negotiations, the role of humans in a space-conglomerate or how a beloved trilogy should have ended like ‘Mass Effect’ can.
The group of filmmakers behind ‘Nuhfer Media’ want to make a documentary of the trilogy and the events that led to the game’s launch. Including the polarizing effect the third game had on its fans. The group has started a Kickstarter campaign to gather the funds needed to create such a documentary. Here’s a quick look at the project:
According to the team, who contacted us earlier today the project is best described in the press-release:
The proposed documentary will highlight the history and development of the Mass Effect video games as well as address some of the controversies surrounding the franchise. Our goal is to interview key individuals connected with the series, including writers, programmers, producers, voice actors and fans. From now until March 1st, the project will be seeking funding through Kickstarter
The team is seeking at least $5,000 in funds to get the ball rolling, the $5,000 will cover “travel expenses, reimbursing the documentary crew for their time, equipment costs, and sponsor incentives”.
If everything goes according to plan, the filmmakers will have interviews with the cast and crew of Mass Effect and plan to release the filmby November 7, 2013.
