Reggie Fils-Aime clarified a few more features on the Wii U during Nintendo’s E3 2012 press-conference this afternoon. You can read about the Gamepad and Miiverse discussion below.
Nintendo already talked a great deal about the Gamepad’s functionality on Sunday, during the “pre-E3″ press event. Now that E3 is underway for Nintendo, we can tell you that each Wii U console will be able to work with two Gamepads. How the Gamepads work with each game-title is up to the developer but the capability is still there. This is big news as all the previous videos shown for the Wii U has one person using it at a time. For more information on the Gamepad and all of it’s functions, we invite you to watch the “pre-E3″ functions trailer here. Other facts include the Wii U’s ability sync up to four players on the Wii controllers in addition to the Gamepad, all of which can be used during a game.
As for Miiverse, it will be the start-up screen when loading your Wii U. The screen will show you popular games, even if you don’t own them, and give you a rough idea of how many people are playing that title by showing the Mii’s in your region. Also shown at this time was the new Mario title “New Super Mario Bros” which we will have the trailer for shortly.
