| Simulation video games | Simulation video games try to closely emulate aspects of a real or fictional reality. The Simsâ„¢ is probably the most famous game of the genre though most of them can be classified into subgenres. Today we find a lot of sports simulation video games for instance. |
| Strategy video games | Careful thinking and planning are at stake in strategy video games. The player must think in advance if he wants to be successful. The closest cousins of strategy video games are board games. |
| Sports games | Sports games are video games that try to simulate sports. It is usually a player’s friend or the artificial intelligence that controls the rival team or athlete. |
