Sony made a lot of announcements at E3 2012 this year, while running short on time, the company didn’t get a chance to go into that much detail regarding the new features the company has planned for the PS Vita. Here is the rundown on Cross-Platform, Cross-Controller, Cross-Save, Cross-Goods and Cross-Buy.
That is a lot of Cross-es, and that is because Sony is working hard to make sure your PS Vita and PS3 functionality works seamlessly together. This fits in with Sony’s latest slogan “Play Anywhere”. That is what the PS Vita brings to the table with many of these features, the other features make having a PS Vita more convenient, when you also own a PS3.
In a recent press-release sent out by Sony, the company talks more about these features and what they do for the player’s experience.
Let’s start with Cross-Play, this feature is designed to allow players the opportunity to square off, or team up, with friends on the PSN community in their favorite games. PS Vita and PS3 gamers can plan to enjoy Cross-Play with these titles:

Cross-Controller is a new feature that Sony is bringing to PS3 users, allowing developers to start incorporating the PS Vita as a “unique controller in selected PS3 games”. PS3 gamers will be able to utilize the unique user-interface (UI) that is available on the PS Vita including the PS Vita’s; touch screen, rear touch pad, six-axis motion sensing system, and cameras. Bringing something new to PS3 games that the DualShock controller never could. These are the games you can look for in the coming months to feature Cross-Controller when it is available:

Upcoming titles:
Cross-Save is a feature that most PS Vita users are already familiar with. It allows you to save your game, from the PS3 or PS Vita, to the cloud and pick up where you stopped on the other device. Playing on the PS3 and have to leave? Cross-Save to the cloud and take it with you. Just got home? Download your save-file from the cloud on your PS3 and enjoy playing on the big screen.

Upcoming titles:
Cross-Goods allows gamers to keep the content that they, unlock or create, when they transfer their game from the cloud. Nothing gets lost when using the cloud. The same items that you create, customize or unlock will be there when you transfer to the other system.
Available titles:
Upcoming titles:
Cross-Buy is a lot like Cross-Goods but it’s for paid DLC and titles. When you purchase a game or DLC for your PS Vita or PS3 you don’t pay for it twice, you get to use the game (if playable) on both systems for one price. It’s one of the greatest features the “Cross” system has, no more buying a handheld-version and a console version, if the game can be played on the PS Vita you get it for both.

Upcoming titles:
Remote Play has been around for a while but the PS Vita really unlocked it’s power. Remote Play allows gamers to access the content on their PS3 through the internet, with their PS Vita.

So hopefully that clears up any confusion about the new, and older, features for the PS Vita that were announced at E3 2012. The games that are listed are confirmed by Sony for the services that we mentioned.
