Naughty Dog announced the U.K. special edition earlier today and now it is time for North America to learn what treats are in store for them if they buy the special editions of ‘The Last of Us’. Here are the details for the ‘Post-Pandemic’ and ‘Survival Edition’ of the game. 
 
The game is still scheduled to release om May 7th, 2013 but that really isn’t as far away as it sounds. The twospecial editions of the game will be made available in North America.
 

 
Above you will see ‘Survival Edition’ which comes with a 170 page art-book named ‘The Art of the Last of Us’. The hardcover art book is by Dark Horse who will also include ’The Last of Us: American Dreams #1′, the first issue in a series of comic books that dives deeper into Ellie’s backstory. The version you’ll get features a variant cover that can only be found in the Survival Edition.
 
The special edition also includes the Steelbook edition of the game showcasing artwork of Ellie on one side and Joel on the other side of the cover. Ordering the Survival Edition also nets you the Sights & Sounds DLC pack:

The Post-Pandemic Edition (shown above), features the Steelbook edition of the game and The Last of Us: American Dreams issue 1 with the variant cover. You will also get a 12” Premium Statue of Joel and Ellie by Project Triforce. Customers will also get two DLC packs as well. In addition to the Sights & Sounds DLC Pack, the Post-Pandemic Edition includes a plethora of digital content in the Survival DLC Pack:
