A new system update has been released in Europe and for North America for the Nintendo 3DS handheld. This new update will improve system stability along with other minor adjustments.

Nintendo made the announcement earlier today, when it sent out a press-release warning some users that modifying the device could render it useless. Nintendo states this in the press release:

Nintendo reminds users that the 3ds was not intended to be used with any unauthorized device and/or any unauthorized software, and also includes a warning: “IMPORTANT: After the Nintendo 3DS system is updated, any existing or future unauthorized technical modification of the hardware or software of your Nintendo 3DS system, or the use of an unauthorized device in connection with your system, may render the system permanently unplayable. Content deriving from the unauthorized modification of the hardware or software of your Nintendo 3DS system may be removed. Failure to accept the update may render games unplayable.”

Other notes on the update include Version “Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience”.
