Microsoft’s points program has been questioned since the launch of the Xbox 360. Rumors are that Microsoft may be planning to drop the price structure for a fixed, simple-cash program. 
 
The rumors come from Inside Mobile Apps, a website that states that the Xbox 360 MS points program will no longer be active by the end of 2012. This according to “a source with knowledge of the company’s decision.” After the points system is removed, a simple cash value system will be used.
 
Of course take this with a grain of salt as no official sources have been named. We have asked Microsoft for an official announcement and will update you at that time.
