Fans of the ‘Metal Gear’ franchise know that Raiden was once a young child soldier. It wasn’t long before his prowess on the battlefield earned him the nickname ‘Jack the Ripper’, who makes a return in today’s trailer
Although it may seem a little strange to watch a half-cyborg, modern-day ninja driving a car down the interstate, the trailer certainly contains a lot of hard-hitting action. Konami released the new story-driven trailer earlier this morning. The story of ‘Jack the Ripper’ has come up a few times in the Metal Gear Solid franchise, though it would be interesting to see more of the treatments and conditioning that Raiden had to endure to become an elite killing machine.
As you can see in the video, the game appears to answer a few questions about Jack’s early childhood life, and fills in the blanks about how he became the cyborg-ninja before showing up in ‘Metal Gear Solid: 4′.
