Bioware heads Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka talked about the possibilities of getting to play Star Wars: The Old Republic on a Mac.
The game is already a gigantic success on the PC and an in the interview Muzyka said, “We know there’s a big Mac audience of BioWare fans.” When asked about the possibilities of the game coming to Mac, “We know that’s an important and large audience. And we want to serve that audience.”
Dragon Age Origins was once a PC only computer title that eventually found its way to the Mac, which is also a Bioware title. Other MMOs have also made the Mac jump, meaning Star Wars could be at a future disadvantage if the title fails to make it through the right hurdles to land on the Mac operating system.
Zeschuck said this about the chances of seeing an iOS version of the title, “We want to get this launch under our belt and everything stabilized and happy, and then we’ll look at other platforms, and that’s obviously one of the first ones.”
The amount of legal jargon mixed with some business red-tape is sure to be staggering, but just knowing that the developers are open to the idea should give Mac users (like myself) hope that one day we will be choosing a side like everyone else. Help us Bioware, you’re our only hope.
