A new mod is picking up a lot of attention from Reddit users and other gaming communities for its inclusion of the ‘Oculus Rift’ headset. A video was released to showcase the feature. 

 

Nathan Andrews is the creator of the mod which will add both head and gun tracking through the ‘Oculus Rift’ device. Though at this time he does not have the developer unit, he found a way to start work early.

 

Using a ‘Hillcrest Sensor’ mounted to his head and another sensor on a peripheral gun, Andrews says he has replicated the Oculus Rift as to start developing for the device right away. The mod is currently scheduled to work on ‘Half-Life 2′, ‘Half-Life 2: Episode One’ and finally ‘Half-Life 2: Episode Two’. Plans are also in the works to add support to ‘Lost Coast’ and other user-created content.
