Final Fantasy XIV producer, Naoki Yoshida, has posted new details about a July patch for current players of the MMO ‘Final Fantasy XIV’. The game’s producer talks about update 2.0 and prepares fans for an avalanche of info.

The producer talks about his current trip to Shanghai, which is for “official version 2.0 business” but most of the details are for the upcoming patch. In the open-letter to fans, Yoshida talks about Square Enix’s partnership with SNDA who will bring FFXIV v2.0 to China.

Yoshida promises a “flood of info” for the title, you can expect to hear more during “gamescom 2012 in August, and the FINAL FANTASY 25th anniversary event”. The game’s producer plans to bring “rebirth, challenge, reform, and—last but not least—FINAL FANTASY” back to the title with 2.0 update.

Patch 1.23, will be the final “stage” of the current version. That means v2.0 is that much closer. The patch will go live on July 26, 2012. As for the patch-notes, Yoshida had this to say:

With the events of the Seventh Umbral Era coming to a head, the team spared no effort on delivering a battle that has “FINAL FANTASY” written all over it. The greatest trial of the age awaits all you adventurers out there!

But wait, there’s more! In addition to the above, we’ll also be bringing you Skirmish, which is designed to be fuss-free battle content you can jump right into. I hope you all look forward to that as well.

Oh, and there’s the much-awaited summer festival. As I’ve already mentioned in a forum post, yukata (shown on the right) will be up for grabs this year!
