EA brings Origin service to Mac in limited alpha test
January 24th 2013 By Sean Stewart contact email , twitter
Origin has been available for Windows PC users for two years now, but Mac gamers have been left out in the cold until now. Origin has begun the process of opening up a Mac client for future games.
The program is in a limited ‘alpha stage’ at the moment, limited to a few thousand Mac users that will be testing out the program. Players in North America and the UK are one of the first to try the digital-distribution site on a Mac. Mac gamers still can’t download any title from the store, instead they can add titles to their library much like they can on STEAM. The final version will be available later this year.
Mac users will be able to use cloud-saving, social interactions with other Origin members and other features that Windows users currently have. You will need an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and be running at least OS X 10.6.8 to use the service
