DICE is planning to bring the Frostbite graphics engine to Mac gamers

In the last two years more developers have brought top-tier games to the OS X platform than ever before. Whether it’s thanks to Aspyr for porting them over, or developers like Arenanet adding Mac support for ‘Guild Wars 2′.
Now a job listing indicates that the EA studio DICE (Battlefield series) will bring their famed ‘Frostbite Engine’ to the OS X platform. It would be an amazing leap for the Mac platform to make in the gaming genre, though it would probably require the top of line graphic-cards that Apple offers in order to work. The new iMac line boasts a NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 512MB card, which could probably run a version of the graphic engine but nothing is certain yet.
The job posting lists:
Frostbite is looking for developers who want to join us in taking our engine to the next level. You will be part of a team focusing on bringing Frostbite to Mac and work closely with game team customers and the Frostbite team to deliver an engine as great on OS X as it is on Windows and traditional console platforms.
We want creative, committed and communicative people who want to be part of developing the best platform for some of the industry’s most talented game teams. We encourage our employees to be involved and have a strong go-ahead spirit. In return we provide great individual freedom and autonomy, true influence and a flat hierarchy.
If you think you have what it takes then you should head over to EA’s site and send your resume, you’de be making Mac history and on you would make me very happy if you succeed. Though I understand if I’m not your priority.
